چکیده

Introduction Bipolar Disorder (BD) has been suggested to be a risk factor for development of Parkinson Disease. Psychiatric drugs used as standard treatment BD includes many that are known induce drug-induced parkinsonism (DIP). Objectives Clinical differentiation between PD and DIP is clinical scientific crucial result. It might aided by functional neuroimaging the dopaminergic nigrostriatal pathway. Methods Twenty consecutive patients with were clinically assessed underwent 123 I-ioflupane dopamine transporter SPECT. Imaging data pathological pathway further compared population de-novo patients. Results Four had abnormal scans; they higher putaminal binding ratio putamen-to-caudate ratios than patients, despite similar motor symptom burden. Conclusions in our initial results, up 20% have an underlying deficit, which excepted general population. This evidences supports represents subsequent neurodegenerative parkinsonism. [123I]FP-CIT SPECT in atypical degenerative parkinsonism

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder [1], yet early accurate diagnosis remains challenging. The estimated prevalence of PD is 0.5–1% in those aged 65–69 years and 1–3% in those aged ≥80 years [1]. Although the clinical diagnosis of PD may be straightforward in cases with a classic presentation [2], accurate distinction between PD and atypical degenerativ...

Focal 123I-FP-CIT SPECT Abnormality in Midbrain Vascular Parkinsonism

Cerebrovascular diseases are considered among possible causes of acute/subacute parkinsonism, representing up to 22% of secondary movement disorders. In cases of suspected vascular parkinsonism (VP), dopamine transporter SPECT has been highly recommended to exclude nigrostriatal dopaminergic degeneration. We report the case of a hemiparkinsonism related to a left midbrain infarct with focal lat...

Diagnostic Accuracy of Parkinson Disease by Support Vector Machine (SVM) Analysis of 123I-FP-CIT Brain SPECT Data

Brain single-photon-emission-computerized tomography (SPECT) with I-ioflupane (I-FP-CIT) is useful to diagnose Parkinson disease (PD). To investigate the diagnostic performance of I-FP-CIT brain SPECT with semiquantitative analysis by Basal Ganglia V2 software (BasGan), we evaluated semiquantitative data of patients with suspect of PD by a support vector machine classifier (SVM), a powerful sup...

Standardized Semi-Quantitative Evaluation of [123I]FP-CIT SPECT in a Multicenter Study

Background and Purpose: To the best of our knowledge no multicenter studies have been published using standardized semi-quantitative evaluation of [123I]FP-CIT scan (DAT-SPECT). The aims of this study were: 1) to cross-compare semi-quantitative software-assisted evaluations of DAT-SPECTs performed in three centers with different equipments; 2) to assess the accuracy of semi-quantitative evaluat...

(123I)FP-CIT SPECT in suspected dementia with Lewy bodies: a longitudinal case study

OBJECTIVES Little is known regarding the 'false-negative' or 'false-positive' striatal dopamine transporter binding on SPECT for the diagnosis of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). We explored the clinical course in patients fulfilling the criteria for clinical DLB with a normal ((123)I)FP-CIT SPECT (ie, SPECT scan negative, clinical features positive (S-CF+)) and patients not fulfilling DLB crit...
